Cold or Flu?

Cold and flu season is here again. It may be useful to know the differences between cold and flu symptoms. They are both caused by different viruses. Flu symptoms usually come on quickly (within 3 to 6 hours) and consist of a high fever, severe body aches, dry cough, and extreme tiredness. Cold symptoms are usually less severe and develop gradually. People with a cold may not have a fever or only a low grade fever, stuffy nose, slight body aches, hacking productive cough and only slight tiredness. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (the CDC) recommends an annual flu vaccine for everyone over 6 months old. Contact Nurse Untch at untchs@rcschools.net with questions.
