Brown’s Chapel Elementary Celebrates Exciting New Playground Additions

Brown’s Chapel Elementary School is celebrating a major milestone this spring with the unveiling of not one—but two—brand new playgrounds designed to inspire fun, inclusion, and school pride. Built in 2009, the school’s original playground served students faithfully for years, creating countless memories of laughter, friendship, and play. Now, in 2026, the school community is thrilled to welcome updated spaces that reflect both modern needs and the vibrant spirit of Brown’s Chapel.

The new playgrounds, designed in the school’s colors, bring a fresh burst of energy to campus. Students returning from spring break were greeted with bright, inviting structures that instantly became the center of excitement. From the youngest learners to upper elementary students, everyone has been eager to explore these thoughtfully designed spaces.

One of the most meaningful features of the new additions is the accessibility built into the 2–5 playground. This space is fully ADA accessible, ensuring that all students—regardless of ability—can participate, play, and feel included. This important feature reflects Brown’s Chapel’s ongoing commitment to creating an environment where every child can thrive.

The rollout of the playgrounds was made even more special by a creative and community-centered initiative. During the school’s Silent Auction, families had the opportunity to bid for a unique experience—the chance for their child’s class to be among the very first to use the new playgrounds. The response was enthusiastic, highlighting the strong support and involvement of Brown’s Chapel families.

Thanks to those generous bids, several lucky classes earned the honor of being “first on the playground.” Mrs. Pulk’s class proudly became the inaugural group to explore the K–1 playground, marking the moment with excitement and joy as they climbed, swung, and discovered all the new features.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Schuzer’s and Ms. Schnieder’s classes shared the spotlight on the 2–5 playground, kicking off their first recess with energy and smiles. Students raced to try out slides, climbing structures, and gathering spaces, creating instant memories that will last for years to come.

Teachers noted that the experience was about more than just play—it was a celebration of community support and student enthusiasm. “You could feel the excitement,” one teacher said. “The kids were so proud to be the first, and it made the whole experience even more special.”

Parents, staff, and students alike have expressed appreciation for the improvements. Many families who have been part of Brown’s Chapel since its early days see this as a meaningful investment in the school’s future. The transition from the original playground to these new spaces symbolizes growth, renewal, and continued commitment to student well-being.
